We also stayed at the Kimpton Fintch Lodge so I will use that stay to highlight some things we appreciated about The Gates hotel. Truth is, we didn't spend a lot of time at the hotel. After reading a lot of these recent reviews I am left to wonder if there isn't something I am supposed to complain about. I feel if she can in anyway help or make something right, she will. I can not understate how much of a help it was to us at that particular moment. I can not speak as to the rest of the staff (which all seemed polite and helpful), but as far as Dusti goes, she was extremely helpful in getting us sorted out with a few requests which would have been completely understandable to not be able to accomplish. This is a shout out to Dusti Rusher, complex hotel manager at The Gates Hotel/24 North. Outdoor bar staff ignored us for quite some time in the evening and so ended up looking elsewhere. On arrival we were issued some free cocktails. They do provide a great little service shuttle bus into the town which is super handy. These may all be small things but they become an inconvenience. Tv info on channels not available to have to skip through each channel. Only enough smellies, coffee/cups and water for two each day. Requested more and they were quickly delivered but the cleaners removed the extra two every day we were there, resulting in having to ask each day for new ones. ![]() We weren’t able to turn the air on off or down (on asking we were told you could only use the wall controls but no sign on the unit itself to just inform that) the fridge was warm (the water provided was room temp, I feel this should have been checked on cleaning) the room was booked for 4 people. The room was clean and lovely with a modern feel. We shared a family easy access room on the bottom floor with a pool view. Visited here with my mum and a couple of friends.
